January 19th and 24th marks the most important day in every second year med school student at R.S.M.U.
It’s the day when the finals for Histology and Anatomy, two of the most revered subjects in med school [Next year I’ll call something else taking over it’s place] takes place. Personally, I plan to be absent, but it sends an aura of stale death about and around the hostel.
Everywhere I go, there are people studying. I should be doing the same too, but here I am watching Borat.
The university has declared a one week holiday in conjunction with the new years, and the orthordox christmas, which gets the cheers of nerds all around, allowing them to focus on their exams…but…
On the 6th floor of the archaic hostel, in small room 14, lies a giant…over 6 feet…[or just about] sleeping. It is a requirement to collect all ‘credits’ for all subjects before being allowed to sit for the finals, and this giant is still missing 6 credits. When the week holiday is over, this giant has about 10 sub-exams to settle before getting his credit. The following is the numerated accounts :
1) Histology Colloquim 2 : Digestive/Respiratory and Skin
2) Histology Colloquim 3 : Urogenital System
3) Anatomy Theory : Chest
4) Anatomy Theory : Abdomen Cadaver : Abdomen
5) Anatomy Theory : Head/Neck Cadaver : Head/Neck
6) Anatomy Theory : Upper Limb Cadaver : Lower Limb
7) Anatomy Theory : Lower Limb Cadaver : Lower Limb
8 ) Physiology : Central Nervous System
9) Histology Colloquim 1 : Lymphatic and Endocrine system
10) Anatomy Cadaver : Chest
11) Microbiology : Serology Exam
12) Microbiology: DNA
The entire anatomy list has to be settled on the 9th and 10th of January, whereas the histology has to be settled on the 10th or 12th only. Physiology has to be settled on the 11th.
This doesn’t leave much time for the new years fun, and naturally, this brings my liver to an all time high in it’s health [Which is not neccessarily a bad thing].
It is sad that It is only I in this slump, for when I travel to visit my friends, they’re all studying, and it’s annoying to tell them to stop and entertain me, so I turn to the internet, which now seems as monotonous as ever. With the end of this post, I’m gonna head out and umm, shower…and hit the books. Lets see what happens!
